NC Farm School
North Carolina Farm School (NCFS) is a unique strategic business planning program for aspiring, new, or transitioning farmers. NCFS utilizes an extension framework in a 4-to-6 county cluster where Extension agents play a key role in classroom presentations, group facilitation, and enterprise selection. They teach sound production practices and crop management decision making as a part of a process to deliver a fully developed business curriculum over a four-month period. These classroom hours utilize the support of the agents and the practical knowledge of local farmers to facilitate classroom learning. The classroom business sessions are reinforced with multiple farm visits
