North Carolina Farm School (NCFS) is a unique strategic business planning program for aspiring, new, or transitioning farmers. NCFS utilizes an extension framework in a 4-to-6 county cluster where Extension agents play a key role in classroom presentations, group facilitation, and enterprise selection. They teach sound production practices and crop management decision making as a part of a process to deliver a fully developed business curriculum over a four-month period. These classroom hours utilize the support of the agents and the practical knowledge of local farmers to facilitate classroom learning.
