Men & Women United for Youth & Families

Men and Women United for Youth and Families, CDC is a non-profit organization located in Delco, North Carolina. Their work promotes economic and personal development in the rural communities of Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, and New Hanover counties. Their flagship program is the Youth Ambassadors program, which provides leadership and enrichment opportunities to local youth. Youth Ambassadors are at the forefront of food hub work and have a direct role in the Vacation Vittles program and Novant Health Farmers Market. Men and Women also serves as a resilience hub for community members, working tirelessly to distribute food during extreme weather and other disasters.

Farmer Workshops	Men & Women co-host workshops for area producers with farm services organizations like RAFI, CFSA, and NC Cooperative Extension. Workshop topics vary, so there's something for everyone.
Bridging the Gap Annual Producer Conference	Bridging the Gap is Men & Women's free annual producer conference tackling the business of farming. Participants can expect to learn about agricultural best practices along the entire timeline, from seed to harvest and preliminary business planning to sales. In addition, participants can take advantage of Men & Women's connections with farmer service organizations across the state, including CFSA, RAFI, NCDA, and NC Cooperative Extension. The conference takes place in the winter or spring of each year.
Farmer Technical Assistance	Men & Women provide technical assistance to their farmers in topics including production quality and post-harvest handling, identifying and expanding market opportunities, scaling up, and resource connections with farm services organizations like NC Cooperative Extension and FSA. They also host monthly coffee chats, where their farmers can ask questions, got to know one another, and learn more about Men & Women's services.
