Description of the Organization:
Each program builds sustainable farming communities in the different NC regions by providing resources directly to farmers who are diversifying or expanding their operations.
All three programs are funded by the NC Tobacco Trust Fund and administered by Cooperative Extension, University of Mount Olive, and WNC Communities.

WNC AgOptions Financial Assistance:

Grants of $3,000 and $6,000 awarded to individual farmers demonstrating profitable crop transition

Community Grants (up to $10,000) support group projects that improve Western NC's agriculture system

NC Cooperative Extension agents meet with applicants to help develop projects
NC AgVentures Financial Assistance:

Grants of up to $8,000 available to family farmers for new and innovative practices

Practices should grow profit or replace tobacco income

Community Grants of up to $8,000 also available
