
NCDA Specialty crops Block grant
Description of the Organization:
The purpose of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Specialty Crop Block Grant Program is to solely enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops.
Specialty crops are defined as fruits and vegetables, dried fruit, tree nuts, horticulture, nursery crops (including floriculture).
The North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) administers funding received from the USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP). NCDA&CS awards SCBGP funds through a competitive review process guided by industry, nonprofit and government stakeholders.
