Description of the Organization:

 Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture is a women-led organization that builds an equitable, sustainable High Country local food system by supporting producers and cultivating community connections that educate, inspire, and increase the demand for local food.

Geographic Service:

Western NC counties:

Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Caldwell, Mitchell, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yancey

Eastern TN Counties:

Johnson

Programs and Services Offered:

Business and Legal:

  • Blue Ridge CRAFT: Connects aspiring farmers with experienced farmers 

  • Food Hub: 

    • Online local food ordering platform 

    • Options for food storage space for growers 

    • Marketing and sales support for participating growers

  • Double Up Food Bucks: a healthy food incentive program that doubles the value of federal nutrition benefits spent at farmers' markets, helping people buy local food while supporting our local farmers and economy.

  • Boone's Winter Farmers' Market: weekly winter indoor farmers market that runs from December-April 

  • King Street Farmers' Market: weekly Tuesday afternoon farmers market that runs from May-October
