Black family land trust
Description of the Organization:
Black Family Land Trust was founded in 2004. It is the only land trust dedicated to the preservation of African American-owned land. The mission of the BFLT is to provide education, technical and financial services to ensure, protect, and preserve African American land ownership.
Geographic Service:
The Black Family Land Trust works primarily in the Southeastern US.

African American Land Ethic as blending of the concepts of Phenomenology, Land Ethic and Cultural Competence to describe the African American’s historical relationship with the land, and how that relationship dictates what value is placed on land ownership in the United States, particularly land ownership in the rural south.
