The NC Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Association consists of 10 councils that serve all of the 100 counties in North Carolina. The RC&D Program, established by Congress in the 1960s, promotes the protection and conservation of land and water resources across the country. RC&D programs also encourage volunteers, civic leaders, and elected officials to plan and execute projects that protect environmental resources and improve social and economic conditions in rural areas.
