CEFS Career Pathways

CEFS Career Pathways supports students, community members, military veterans, and others in their search for the next step in their career in food or agriculture. Through the program, CEFS offers internships for current or recently graduated students, as well as apprenticeships for community members and military veterans.

EmPOWERing Mountain Food Systems

EMFS was launched in 2019 with a focus on expanding opportunities & capacity for food and farm businesses across WNC by bringing regional partners together. The EMFS team works to enhance local food economies through infrastructure development, marketing, business assistance, land matching, and training.

NC Choices

NC Choices, an initiative of the Center for Environmental Farming Systems in collaboration with NC Cooperative Extension, promotes sustainable food systems through the advancement of the local, niche, and pasture-based meat supply chain in North Carolina. NC Choices provides information, technical assistance, educational programming, and networking opportunities for farmers, extension agents, meat processors, buyers, distributors, and consumers. They also provide free market expansion opportunities for meat producers on Meat Suite, their online marketplace.
