Reynolds American Foundation Giving

Overview:

R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company is proud to use its resources to enhance the quality of life in North Carolina communities where employees live and work. Grants are typically made for one year only, and applicants must apply for additional funding.  

Deadline:

The Reynolds American Foundation awards grants on a quarterly basis. Proposals must be completed and submitted by the dates below:

February 1 

May 1 

August 1 

November 1 

Funding Priorities:

Birth – 12 Public Education 

  • Public-school and community programs that prepare children to enter school 

  • Improving academic performance of low-performing and economically disadvantaged youth 

 

Local Community Campaigns 

  • United Way support 

  • Arts Council campaigns in target communities 

 

R.J. Reynolds has designated certain resources for other grants, sponsorships and in-kind contributions.

R.J. Reynolds supports communities state-wide where employees live and work.

Grant Size:

No information is available at this time. 

Requirements:

To be eligible for funding, an applicant must be: 

  • A nonprofit organization or an appropriate government agency; 

  • Serving residents in communities where R.J. Reynolds employees reside; and, 

  • Operated and organized in non-discriminatory ways. 

 

The Foundation will not consider funding requests from the following: 

  • School grants not made through the superintendent’s offices; 

  • Endowments; 

  • Support for individuals; 

  • General operating expenses; 

  • Requests from churches or programs that promote religious doctrine; 

  • Requests for political candidates and organizations; 

  • Requests for travel expenses or sponsorships of most special events; 

  • Individual day care centers; and, 

  • Requests that have already been supported by R.J. Reynolds American Foundation or R.J. Reynolds for three consecutive years.
